MIDI and BiaB

The MIDI and the BiaB (Band-in-a-Box) are technologies that I use for a better development of my students. In this page there are also files of general utility and hundreds of songs in BiaB format.

The BiaB is a program extremely versatile and productive, as in the area of training as in the of auto-training. in 20 years as a music teacher, I have never founded a tool so powerful and useful like this.

You can find the latest version of BiaB in: www.pgmusic.com

In classes and Workshops, I always use the BiaB as a basic tool. During or before lesson , I prepare musical backgrounds (in seconds!) that are more adequate to students needs.

The BiaB has a feature for learning the "first sight reading" that I never seen before.

The BiaB resource of printing is also more practical and faster than others similar in the market (Finale, Sibelius, etc.).

For audio editing, generally, I use the Sound Forge. For example: in a class, I record the solo from the CD that the student choose and, reducing the speed without changing the pitch, I give him a slow solo in cassette format for homework.

The Personal Ear Trainer (PET) is an English program, excellent for training and self-training of rhythmic harmonic and melodic perception. The BiaB has also great resources for this.

For recording I use the Cakewalk. In the past years, I have been using more the Steinberg Cubase, but on Mac and Atari it worked better than on PC.

Below there is a lot of BiaB files very useful for learning and teaching:

Enjoy!
